If you’re not boycotting Microsoft like Arachnophlia creator Paul Lutus, then you should check out Microsoft Visual Studio’s free “Community” edition of their IDE, which supports up to five users. While their paid versions offer more advanced features, their free version includes all the essential tools for HTML editing. Plus they throw in some useful tools for mobile app development, such as code sharing between Android and iOS.

"Just thought I should tell you that we are doing SEO trials on websites designed with your free website building software. We are testing it against our best performers and you are holding up well. There are a lot of website creation programs that are more concerned with design than performance. We are more interested in performance than design. As the saying goes… if you can’t be found on Google, you can’t be found. Keep up the good work!"
Businesses and individuals use website builders to create complex, well-designed websites independently without the need for coding or design skills. Website builder software varies greatly in terms of the scope and intention of the website. Businesses may use a website builder for a simple informational site or as an outlet through which to build a complex storefront full of multimedia content and unique features. Individuals may create simple sites to display their online portfolio of creative work. Website builders may offer a free plan or a free trial, but creating a custom domain name and using the full breadth of available services will require the purchase of a full plan.
However a web page was created or edited, WYSIWYG or by hand, in order to be successful among the greatest possible number of readers and viewers, as well as to maintain the 'worldwide' value of the Web itself, first and foremost it should consist of valid markup and code.[6] It should not be considered ready for the World Wide Web, until its HTML and CSS syntax have been successfully validated using either the free W3C validator services (W3C HTML Validator and W3C CSS Validator) or some other trustworthy alternatives.[6]
A browser and a Free Easy WebContent account; That's all you need to design and publish your own professional website the way you always wanted. Create your site using our extremely easy to use interface, select from our flexible themes, choose from thousands of free assets, or fully customize it with your own photos, movies, text, and widgets and then whenever ready, publish to the Web in one click.
Open source and free like the previous two platforms. It is a tad better than the other two when it comes to creating a community of users (like a small social network or tight knit community for your readers) and is far more amenable to creating social websites with a lot of interaction and engagement from users. It is easier to handle than Drupal and offers more than WordPress in terms of performance and tweakability.
A CMS is way more than just a means to an end, you can install a theme which is a modified template to suit the specific niche and purpose of your site. With the template added, you can customize the appearance of your site. You can add plugins to add functionality to your site, for example, a social sharing plugin to help spread the word about your site via social networks.
The templates are high quality, but nobody wants to have a website which looks like another. While that might be hard to avoid with the number of websites on the internet (tens of billions), giving it your best will surely pay off. A quality theme is surely a great start for a website, but the extensive admin panel gives you a lot of creative freedom to express yourself in your website, whether it is a personal blog or an online store.

If you just ran into this article to find HTML editors that take away the coding part from you, you’ll have found out by now that this is the wrong place. To not lose you leaving completely disappointed I want to advise you to take a look at Mobirise. Mobirise is an installable editor, too. The difference to the others mentioned here is that it does not let you fiddle with the code. Instead, it completely keeps you away from that. We have written a full-fledged article on Mobirise and I strongly encourage you to check it out.
"Enormous potential with this product, it's just what I've been looking for. I've looked at all the online website builders and they are mostly monthly subscription or a bit complicated to use and will take me quite some time. Your program Mobirise looks like it will so easy to use. Great work everyone involved in the development of Mobirise page creator, and perfect timing with the new Google Responsive rules in mobile search."

Image Editing – Website builders often contain built-in image editing tools so that you can alter and enhance images you put up on the site. Image editing can make a huge difference between presenting a polished product and representing your business poorly online. The ubiquitous grainy image quality of ‘90s-era websites is not acceptable in the age of widely available photo editors and image editing tools. That tools of that ilk are built into these website builders means that there is even more opportunity to make your site look the best it possibly can.

2010-05-17 YesLogic has released Prince 7.1, a program to produce PDF from HTML, MathML, SVG and generic XML. This version adds PDF actions and some experimental features, such as Web Fonts in WOFF, a 'table-baseline' property (especially useful for math), and a 'border-clip' property (to suppress parts of a border). Prince offers many (standard or proposed) CSS3 features, including hyphenation, rounded corners and footnotes. (Windows, Mac OS X, Solaris, Linux (i386), BSD; free personal license)

I used to use Microsoft’s FrontPage to do my web design stuff to make it easier for my family and I to keep in touch when I was stationed overseas. I liked FrontPage because it did it all for me. I’d design the page like I was using Word or Publisher, stick in my pictures, and FrontPage would make sure everything matched. Layout, colors, fonts, graphics, etc. Then I’d just hit a button and FrontPage would ship everything to my web server.
Whatever software tools are used to design, create and maintain web pages, the quality of the underlying HTML is dependent on the skill of the person who works on the page. Some knowledge of HTML, CSS and other scripting languages as well as a familiarity with the current W3C recommendations in these areas will help any designer produce better web pages, with a WYSIWYG HTML editor and without.[8]

A little while ago, I left you a message asking for help figuring out some basics about website design and hosting. I think I’ve got the answer I was looking for. I contacted TotalChoice Hosting and they do only hosting, no web design help. So, I am going to read your articles about WIX and SquareSpace again and go with one of them to develop and host the website for my new domain name. Sorry to waste your time. I just had to realized that domain registration, website hosting and website development are all 3 totally separate things, even though some companies combine some or all of these services. Thanks again.
